 | Having trained and worked as a printed textile designer, Astrid Weigel now works from her home in Ayrshire producing contemporary soft furnishings. Her work draws on inspiration gathered from everyday life; however, the garden is where she finds the most creative stimulus. Currently producing a range of hand crafted items for the home, using floral elements as its theme, fabrics are designed and screen printed in short runs. Using bold black and white illustration, they are embellished further by appliqué and hand/machine stitching, adding touches of colour by individually hand painting the cloth. |
